Organic spirulina Made in Tuscany

Spirulina is a blue-green micro algae with a perfect spiral shape, hence its particular name. From a biological point of view, it is one of the oldest inhabitants on the planet and it is one of the most complete foods that exist in nature.
The high nutritional value has therefore made it a fundamental resource for many civilizations, from ancient times to the present day.
The production of Severino Becagli spirulina algae is highly eco-sustainable and 100% organic. It allows you to produce a large quantity of low cost and low environmental impact vegetable proteins, without polluting and wasting water. Furthermore, spirulina is the organism that produces the most oxygen of all and allows a lot of CO2 to be captured from the atmosphere, reducing the gases that cause the earth to overheat.

However, what are the benefits of spirulina for those who take it daily?

First of all, we must emphasize that spirulina should be consumed daily, as a supplement to a healthy and balanced diet. It is not a medicine, so there is no dosage of the product, but simply a recommended dose ranging from 3 to 5 grams per day. To help its customers, Severino Becagli has decided to produce single-dose sachets of 3 grams of powdered spirulina: comfortable, practical and hygienic.

To better understand the incredible “strength” and properties of spirulina we can compare it to other products that we normally take in our diet:

  • It is composed of 60/70% of highly assimilable vegetable proteins: this means that it contains 3 times the proteins of bovine liver, almost double those of soy and 3 times more than those of beans;
  • It is rich in Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium, essential minerals for bone strength and to regulate the entry of energy into cells. These three alkaline minerals are able to regulate the acid-base balance of the body, moving it towards basicity;
  • It contains 30 times more iron than what can be assimilated with spinach;
  • it is perfect as an antioxidant: it contains beta-carotene in quantities (20 times more than carrots), Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Vitamin K, Vitamin A in quantities higher than the average of other natural products;
  • it contains essential fatty acids, in particular Omega3: in spirulina, linoleic acid and gamma-linoleic acid are present, powerful natural remedies against certain types of inflammation and which also help to reduce blood cholesterol, to fight the acne, dermatitis, menstrual pain and some disorders of nervous origin.

In summary, spirulina is good for the body by helping circulation, digestion, improving the skin, strengthening the immune system and fighting infections. It purifies and detoxifies the body and can be useful in low-calorie diets because it has a satiating effect, thanks to the high protein content.
Helps eyesight, strengthens nails and hair and fights cellular aging.
It is perfect for athletes because it fights fatigue and integrates mineral salts, improves mood and helps concentration.

Spirulina is very suitable for women, as it regulates ovulation and the menstrual cycle: vitamin A, for example, reduces premenstrual pain and iron fights weakness and the risk of anemia due to blood loss.

It is also suitable for children, thanks to the presence of calcium and essential amino acids present, in nature, only in breast milk.

How to use spirulina?

Spirulina, especially in Severino Becagli’s practical 3g single-dose package, can be taken in addition to centrifuges, smoothies or yogurt. Perfect for breakfast or a snack, the advice is to take it during the day to take advantage of its energizing “powers”. For sports enthusiasts, we also suggest adding it to water or a mash, even if spirulina, not being completely water-soluble, does not dissolve, remaining slightly grainy.

Furthermore, spirulina is a natural dye, unique in its kind, and can be used in the kitchen in different preparations, just use your imagination.

Organic spirulina cappuccino

The Severino Becagli spirulina cappuccino proposal was created in collaboration with our trusted naturopath, Claudia Zannini, author of the VitalmenteBio blog who created this recipe to exploit the energizing “powers” of spirulina algae. We are waiting for you at Fattoria San Lorenzo to let you enjoy our special cappuccino for breakfast. In the meantime, here is the recipe for trying to make it at home.

Ingredients for 1 cup:
250 ml almond milk or soymilk
1 teaspoon of spirulina powder or a sachet of Severino Becagli spiruday
Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
The tip of a vanilla knife

Procedure:

Put the spirulina, vanilla and cinnamon in your cup. In a saucepan, heat your milk. Pour half of it into the cup and mix well to mix the ingredients (if you have the milk frother its perfect!). Whip the remaining milk with the milk frother until it forms a nice foam. Pour it over the rest and enjoy it hot!
